Your Task:
Join the Red Ribbon Week campaign! At Wilder Elementary we will be working together with the art department and counseling department to make a difference! As a computer lab "techie" your job is to create a public service announcement (PSA) to encourage other students to say "No" to drugs and alcohol.
What is a PSA? A PSA is a video or print message with the goal of changing someones attitude or behavior. Your goal is to encourage other students to practice good refusal skills that will help them say "No" to drugs and alcohol. Your target audience is upper elementary students (3rd, 4th, and 5th grade).
Fourth grade students will be creating a PSA that can be published in the local newspaper. Fifth grade students will be creating a PSA video that can be viewed by elementary students.
Fourth grade - Through the use of Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Word, create a PSA that can be published in the local newspaper. The top three PSA's will be published in the local newspaper, The Mansfield Mirror.
Fifth grade - Through the use of the website www.Powtoon.com, create an animated video that can be viewed by other students. The top three videos will be linked to the Lions' Lab website.
